Department of Pharmacology
The Department of Pharmacology is involved in all aspects of teaching and research activities. The discipline of pharmacology is the study of the effects of drugs on living organs. Pharmacology may involve how organs handle drugs, mechanism of drug action, drug toxicity, the use of drugs as probes to delineate biological processes during health and disease, identification of new targets for drug action and the design and development of new drugs. These investigations can occur at the molecular, sub cellular, cellular, tissue or whole organism level. Pharmacology is an interdisciplinary science employing experimental approaches that may include biochemistry, physiology, immunology, molecular biology, genetics and cell biology.
The institute is having a modern animal house approved by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC).Department has well equipped laboratory with computer facilities, audiovisual aids and internet facilities. Computer with access to scientific databases
